Home is where we find comfort in small gestures… like a plate of cookies waiting for you on a kitchen counter!
Here at Ronald McDonald House, we want the families who stay with us to have that feeling of home, which is why our volunteer bakers are so valuable!
Each day, they whip up fresh batches of cookies and squares. These treats are set out on the kitchen island, waiting for our families when they return from appointments at the hospital.
Unable to have peanut butter in the House, one of our fabulous bakers, Joan, made WOWBUTTER cookies today. From the smell to the taste, you won’t believe it’s not real peanut butter. Plus, this soy-based butter has just as much protein as peanut butter with 4 grams per tablespoon.
Joan’s recipe is below, from our House to yours! Enjoy!

1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1. Cream butter, WOWBUTTER, and sugars together in a bowl; beat in eggs.
2. In a separate bowl, sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir into butter mixture. Refrigerate dough for 1 hour.
