Our Day Use Program gives local families with a child in the hospital a place to rest and recharge, eat a hot meal and access a computer.
Families can also book our R&R Room, which features a private bedroom and bath, for a four-hour time block. Referrals for Day Use of the House can be given by a member of your child’s medical team.
The R&R Room is a private suite available for short-term use by families with children receiving treatment at Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre. The room gives tired families an opportunity to rest, shower, do a load of laundry and eat a warm meal.
The R&R Room can be booked in four-hour intervals between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. seven days a week. Families are welcome to use all House amenities during their allotted time slot, with the exception of parking.
There is no charge to use the R&R Room but a referral from a nurse, social worker or doctor at the hospital is required.
Our Home for Dinner program is a donation and volunteer experience all in one!
After a long day at the hospital, families can return to the House for a home cooked meal prepared by our talented volunteer groups. Home for Dinner volunteers not only cook the meal, they also plan, purchase and package up the leftover food. This important program relieves some of the stress and financial burden our families face, while giving them some extra time to spend together as a family.

Our recreation program brings some much needed fun and a sense of normalcy to our families’ lives.
Our experienced staff and volunteers facilitate a variety of activities, including arts & crafts, games nights and seasonal special events. In addition, visits from special guests including therapy dogs provide entertainment and a fun distraction for parents and children of all ages.
