Volunteer Openings

Join Our Family

We are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers in the Calgary area to help out at the House, our signature events and community activities. Volunteer opportunities range from short commitments of just a few hours at events to weekly recurring shifts at the House. Below you will find a list of openings for which we are currently recruiting volunteers.

Please note: We strive to provide all volunteers with meaningful opportunities that align with indicated areas of interest and personal growth. A police-check will be required for in-House volunteers.

Current Opportunities

Home for Dinner Volunteers

Our Home for Dinner program provides delicious homemade meals to families staying at the House every day of the week. Perfect for those who enjoy cooking, this group activity is a volunteer opportunity and donation all in one!

Each group of up to eight people plans, purchases ingredients and prepares a meal for our families. Meals are made in our in-House kitchen and all cooking tools are provided. For our families, this eases the burden of preparing a meal after a long day at the hospital and provides some much-needed time to rest and recharge. Both dinner and brunch time slots are available.

To inquire about available dates, please contact Home For Dinner. We require two members from your group to attend an Orientation/Information Session. Those two members must be present at each Home For Dinner booking.

Event Volunteers

Volunteers provide support in a wide variety of roles at our signature and community fundraising events. These events include our annual Hustle for the House Run (formerly Rock the House Run), Taste of Home Gala and Charity Golf Classic.

If you are interested in learning more or applying for one of our available event volunteer opportunities, please contact Sarah Cole, Volunteer Coordinator by email or call 403.240.3000 ext. 136.

Finance Support Volunteer

We are looking for a qualified Finance Support Volunteer who will work with our Finance and Database team to complete day-to-day tasks such as data entry, database maintenance, creation of reports and other miscellaneous and administrative tasks. Training will be provided.

This would involve a minimum weekly commitment of three (3) hours per week. Experience in a finance or data entry role is ideal, as is proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

If interested, fill out an application form here or contact Volunteer Coordinator Sarah Cole by email or call 403.240.3000 ext. 136.
